2 weeks until Greg's official last day for work (not really a retirement, as he previously retired from Federal service in 2005, and has been working as a contractor since then). Our plans are to fly to Atlanta on Nov 4, drive 4 hours south to Waycross (Georgia) where my mom lives, then look for a new/used Navion Class B motorhome. For 6 weeks we will drive around the southern states to visit friends/family and see new places. Maybe even fly to Cozumel Mexico for a little scuba diving. I'll do my best to keep up with this blog to journal our adventures.
In preparation for our trip, Greg is putting together a crate so we can ship lots of things to my mom's; such as our bikes, additional camping gear (for overnight hikes), stuff for the RV (sheets, pillows, etc). Next is to figure out what items of clothing to pack or ship. It's really a mix of things because we don't know where we'll be going!!
